Hello, I thought it would be fun to try and make some scary sounding vocals with effects, since my voice isn't very scary normally. Slap some weird effects on your vocal tracks and let me hear it! I used a heavy reverb, slapback delay, stereo chorus and boosted the hell out of the bass Any tips on making it sound more monstrous appreciated! picosong.com/MpcP/
Sorry for my pitchiness and how quiet the audio is, but I'm no oktavist haha

One technique I've seen used is overlaying a second track of the voice pitched down a few semitones. The combination of those two tracks gives the voice some dissonance to remove "humane" qualities, as well as an extra bass boost. It's what they did for Benedict Cumberbatch's voice when he played Smaug in the Hobbit films.
The signature "talk box" effect used on many Zapp tracks in the 1980s was an early and popular vocal effect that not only was an odd sound but has been replicated from the 70s all the way to today. This effect is represented perfectly in the intro to 24k Magic by Bruno Mars.
