Simple enough question this one. Yes, we all have those bands and artists that we just can't warm to, but every once in a while, we come across a track by them which, grudgingly, we have to concede we actually enjoy. You know the feeling. An artist you usually complain about comes on the radio, or is put on at a gathering of friends by somebody else. You roll your eyes and accept the next few minutes will be a chore. Then, in a moment of existential crisis that causes you to question your whole outlook on music, you find you're tapping along to the beat with your foot. Could... could you be enjoying this song? The one by that band which you constantly tell people are overrated and annoying? That's the question here. Which songs by musicians you normally dislike will you concede are actually good pieces of music? I'll start the ball rolling. Normally, I dislike all things nu metal- I haven't listened to it since my days of killing rock crabs on Runescape. But this cover of Smoke on the Water, done by Carlos Santana and featuring Jacoby Shaddix of Papa Roach on vocals, I actually think is pretty good. www.youtube.com/watch?v=CTgdxarOPrE
So, what about you, then? What songs by your least favourite artists do you enjoy, if any?
