Hello and welcome to the forum Discussion about our own voices goes in the "Shameless Self Advertising" sub-forum. I'll get a mod/admin to move this post and set you up with a thread of your own. In regards to safe singing and preventing bad habits, your body is often your best indicator. If something is painful you need to be very careful about how often you use it, because that pain will usually be excess friction between the vocal folds, and that friction causes damage. The same goes for if a technique causes you to lose your voice or go hoarse after singing. Those are big red flags. But if your singing isn't causing you much discomfort any you don't notice any worrying ill-effects, you're probably fine.
